The EU-China Mayors’ Forum is the city networking flagship event of the EU-China Urbanisation Partnership. Co-organised by the Covenant of Mayors Office and the Chinese Association of Mayors, the Forum is supported by the European Commission's DG Energy and the Chinese Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

This first edition will mark the kick-off of annual events to be organised alternately in Europe and China. Confirmed keynote speakers already include European Commission President José Manuel Barroso and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

It will bring together EU and Chinese Mayors, local decision-makers, city planners, business and NGOs willing to share experience in moving towards sustainable, integrated and efficient solutions in the area of urban management. 

The Forum will conclude with the signing of a cooperation Charter between European and Chinese Mayors. In addition to the high-profile, 20 September political event, thematic workshops will be organised on 19 September.
