CIVITAS SUMPs-UP is launching the first call for mobility planning authorities
15 mai 2017 - 17:18

The CIVITAS SUMPs-Up has launched a call for applications targeting cities which are in the process of developing or implementing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP). Indeed, the call invites the cities to join its Innovation Pilot Pool (IPP), a group for transport and urban mobility planning which aims to look for new tools and services in order to make the SUMPs more attractive.

Therefore, the IPP will create a community of 100 transport professionals who will benefit from SUMPs-Up funding and from participation in its learning activities (the SUMP Learning Programmes). The experts will have to test and apply sustainable urban mobility approaches, tools and methodologies in transport planning practice transposed to real situations on a local and regional scale. They will provide a report in which they will include their comments and provide feedback on the experiment as well as good practices.

Through this first CIVITAS SUMPs-Up call, 40 IPP participants will be selected and will join the Expert Group for 6 months, focusing on activities such as tools and services for initiating a SUMP, with a gasp on the SUMP tailor-made for small and medium-sized cities.

Another 10 IPP will be selected via this first call to take part in the Leadership Group and will assist CIVITAS SUMPs-Up for a period of three years.

Last but not least, 5O IPP participants will be selected later on, in 2018 and 2019 via the same call for application system and will focus on tools and services developing a SUMP and on its implementation.

  • Deadline of the call for application: 24May 2017
