Opening today! An opportunity to apply to the new Covenant of Mayors peer learning programme; to learn, be inspired and take action on your climate and energy challenges.
The new programme builds on the success of the Covenant of Mayors twinning programme, and offers cities, regions, and provinces across Europe the opportunity to take part in exchanges that aim to increase their capacity and knowledge through tailored peer discussions to tackle their climate and energy challenges!
The Covenant of Mayors peer learning programme has been designed to cater to the different needs of cities, regions, and provinces. In this vein, we are launching tailored programmes targeting those at various stages of the climate adaptation and mitigation journey. These programmes will ensure participants undertake stimulating exchanges including activities such as:
Exchanging ideas on how to adapt to climate change through nature-based solutions
Learning how to co-create a climate pact with citizens and business or to develop a climate neutrality strategy
Hearing from experts on how to successfully apply to competitive funding opportunities
Getting tailored feedback and advice on their Sustainable Energy and Climate Adaptation Plans (SECAPs)
Each of our programmes will ensure a tailored exchange between participants.
Successful applicants will be offered a place on the programme that most accurately responds to their needs and challenges as described in their application. Note, applicants will not be able to select which programme they wish to apply for. Rather, the Covenant of Mayors Office will select and pair successful applicants according to their learning needs, challenges, and expertise as described in their application.
The programme is open to all current and prospect Covenant of Mayors signatories (i.e. municipalities), Territorial Coordinators, and Supporters under the condition that they join the initiative before the start of the peer learning programme in June 2021. More information on how to join is available here.
For this round of the peer learning programme, up to 51 cities, up to 14 coordinators and 5 energy agencies will be selected. Selection results will be announced in May 2021.
Local and regional authorities interested in participating in the programme should apply before CoB 19 March 2021, 17:00 CET by submitting the online application form (links below):
